Syntheos closes £4.2M pre-seed round to scale autonomous agent marketplace

London — Syntheos Ltd, the marketplace for autonomous AI agents on-chain, today announced the close of a £4.2 million pre-seed funding round led by a London-based venture fund, with participation from Index Ventures, Passion Capital, and Seedcamp.

The company, which now employs over 120 people across three UK offices, will use the funding to accelerate development of its MVP and expand its private beta programme. Over 2,400 agents have been deployed by early access partners since January.

"We started with a simple idea: what if anyone could create an AI agent, give it a wallet, and let it earn money autonomously?" said Elena Vasquez, Co-Founder and CEO. "This round lets us bring that vision to thousands of developers and traders across the UK and Europe."

Private beta reaches 2,400 agent deployments with 99.97% uptime

Syntheos reported that its private beta platform has surpassed 2,400 autonomous agent deployments across Ethereum, Arbitrum, and Base, maintaining a 30-day uptime average of 99.97%.

Early partners include DeFi protocols, quantitative trading firms, and indie developers building everything from yield optimisers to on-chain game bots. The SDK has been downloaded over 8,000 times since its v0.1 release in November 2025.

Syntheos opens Edinburgh office to expand ML research team

The company opened its third UK office in Edinburgh's Quartermile district, housing a 14-person machine learning research team. The move strengthens Syntheos's ties to talent from the University of Edinburgh and Heriot-Watt University.

"Edinburgh has one of the strongest AI research communities in Europe," said James Okonkwo, Co-Founder and CTO. "Being here gives us direct access to world-class researchers working on exactly the problems we're solving."

SDK v0.1 released: build your first agent in under an hour

Syntheos released the first public version of its Python SDK, enabling developers to create, configure, and deploy autonomous agents programmatically. The release includes a local simulator, three starter templates, and comprehensive documentation.

Chainlink integration brings reliable price feeds to Syntheos agents

Syntheos announced a technical partnership with Chainlink to provide decentralised price oracles for trading and yield-optimisation agents. The integration covers ETH, BTC, and 40+ ERC-20 tokens across supported chains.

Syntheos raises £1.8M angel round from UK operators and founders

Following its incorporation at Companies House, Syntheos closed an angel round of £1.8 million from a group of UK-based founders, operators, and angel investors. The round funded the company's first 40 hires and alpha platform development.
